Volunteers are needed to help Hamilton County residents recover from historic flooding. Assistance may include physical labor, cleanup, debris removal, and other recovery work as areas are cleared for volunteers.
Family Flood Relief Supplies Needed
Families impacted by the flooding need essential baby, food, sleeping and cleanup supplies. Drop-off at Firefly Children & Family Alliance, 1575 Doctor M.L.K. Jr. St., Indianapolis — Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Volunteers Needed to Deliver Flood Relief Kits
Help get essential supplies directly into affected neighborhoods. The Local Radish is collecting baby formula, diapers, batteries, medical/first-aid supplies, hygiene items, flashlights, cleaning supplies, and ready-to-eat food — and is seeking volunteers who can pick up prepared kits and distribute them to neighbors and others who need them across Indianapolis.
Flood Cleanup Buckets & Supplies Needed
Flooded homes need cleanup supplies as residents begin the difficult recovery process. St. Luke's UMC has launched a current flood-response drive specifically requesting five-gallon buckets filled with cleaning supplies; volunteers are also needed to assemble and deliver the buckets.
Volunteers Needed to Assemble & Deliver Flood Buckets
Volunteers are needed to help assemble cleanup kits and deliver them to communities impacted by flooding. St. Luke's UMC is actively collecting volunteer sign-ups for assembly and delivery runs over the coming weeks.
Help Provide Temporary Lodging for Flood-Displaced Families
Local families who cannot safely return home need short-term lodging while recovery and damage assessments continue. Mercy Road Church Anderson's current direct-assistance focus is short-term lodging for households displaced by the August 2026 flooding, using its Anderson Flood Relief Fund for affected households and broader recovery.
Flood Cleanup Volunteers Needed
Organized volunteer crews are needed to help communities recover from flood damage throughout Madison County. Madison County Emergency Management is directing people who want to help with flood cleanup and recovery to register through Indiana 211. South Madison Community Foundation is also coordinating volunteer crews for Pendleton and South Madison County.
Supplies Needed for Flood First Responders
Help support emergency personnel working through the flood response and recovery. Anderson's flood-recovery resource center currently lists drop-offs for first responders at Anderson Fire Stations 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, and 8 between designated hours.
Fill the Van — Flood Relief Supplies Needed
Help fill a van with urgently needed supplies for Indiana flood victims. One-day donation drive: Tuesday, August 18, 6–9 p.m. at Patina Gallery, Indianapolis. Requested items include water, pet food, cleaning supplies, trash bags, baby formula, diapers, first-aid items, and unused hygiene products.
